This is our calling. Our hope and prayer is that SOZO will be used by God to leave Northern Uganda better than we have found it.
The opportunities are greater than our capacity or resources. We take comfort in knowing we can only do what we can do. But if we do nothing or we don’t overcome the challenges and adversity that accompany the opportunity then we have no reason to be here in Northern Uganda.
Of course, there are manifold excuses we could employ – We are in the midst of our medical training. We are simply too busy to take on this opportunity. We are people in poverty ourselves and sometimes don’t have enough money to feed ourselves.
But none of those excuses will be sufficient in Eternity. We belong to the Lord. We are His. This is His work. We must take advantage of our weekends and give away what God has given us. We trust Him to provide what we don’t have. What we do have belongs to Him.
SOZO is a crowd-funded nonprofit working in the nation of Uganda to improve and help change the lives of the citizens of that country. We depend on the generosity of people like you because we need a team in order for us to accomplish our goal. The SOZO medical outreach team has a plan to provide free medical clinics to these three North Uganda communities:
- Kiryandongo – July 29
- Gulu – August 26
- Hoima – September 16th
Rebecca has been mentoring 30 of her classmates and they have volunteered to accompany her on these outreaches. The photo on your left is of some of those hoping to be on the team. Each of them is willing to pay a small fee for transportation and food. This is a HUGE sacrifice on their part.
The team has been offered the main hall of a school in Gulu, a church building in Kiryandongo, and barracks when they go to Karamoja for sleeping quarters. Rebecca is hoping that you might find it in your heart to purchase this particular sleeping bag from Amazon and have it delivered to one of our short-term missionaries who is traveling to Uganda next month. These bags will be assets for SOZO to use in these upcoming medical outreaches as well as others in the years to come. Please contact us a nextgenminug@gmail.com for the shipping address when you purchase the bag.
There is, of course, the need for medication. Rebecca has assisted and directed medical missions before and is aware of the common types of medicines needed to serve the most patients possible. Her desire and prayer is that God will provide sufficient financial resources for the medication needed.
Would you please join the team and partner with Rebecca? $25 will go very far in the purchase of medication. You can donate any amount you desire but no amount is too little. All donations are tax-deductible. You can make your donation here online.
